Svanubhava, a festival of music and dance was celebrated in my school Chettinad Harishree Vidhyalayam on August 4, 2010. This festival was organized by the famous South Indian carnatic vocalists Bombay Jayashree and T.M.Krishna.
The event was inaugurated by our director Mrs.Geetha Muthiah and our Principal Mrs.Deivanai. They welcomed all the guests and handed over the stage to the performers.
The day’s events began with the students of Harishree Vidhyalayam, performing a group song, followed by two group Bharatanatyam recitals. We were all thrilled to watch the Panchanadham recital, Veena recital by the popular artiste ‘Veena’ Gayathri, Film music by S.P.Balasubramaniam and Rajiv Menon.
It was a great opportunity for us to watch legends in action at a close proximity.We were also given an opportunity to ask questions to the performers, at the end of each recital. I am very glad that I was able to participate in the Bharatanatyam group dance performance on this occasion. I thank my school for hosting this wonderful event.
