Karadi Tales has recently launched its latest audio book titled Little Vinayak, the story of an elephant whose trunk was too long!

This is one of the audio books in the series – ‘Will You Read With Me?’, which comprises of 18 titles to be released in the next 9 months.

This campaign and product series is designed to promote reading among children with their favourite icons. The four titles narrated by Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan has now been released.

At the launch of Little Vinayak narrated by Vidya Balan, in Chennai on July 4, at Crossword bookstore in T.Nagar, authors, actors and singers came together for an evening of story, music and dancing.

Landing Stage, a local theatre group read and dramatised the story of Little Vinayak and had the audience of children and adults in splits with their antics.

What happens to an elephant whose trunk is so long that he trips and falls whenever he walks? This is little Vinayak’s problem. No matter what he does, he cannot keep his long, long trunk out of the way – until one day, a very special friend offers an unusual solution…  Vidya Balan recounts the story of Little Vinayak with humour and wit to engage every listener.

An original tale by Shobha Viswanath, vibrantly illustrated by Shilpa Ranade and textured with music, sound effects and songs by 3 Brothers & A Violin and title music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, this audio book subtly brings out how each of us is special in our own way.

There were three actors Sham from Loyola College, Aruna is a workingwomen and Ashirwad studies in the US. Singer Viswanath engaged the children in a sing-along, teaching them the songs from the story.

Finally, Karadi, the bear made his appearance and danced along to the songs with the children. Over 50 children and adults attended it, It was an evening of magic and mayhem.

The audio book Little Vinayak is priced at Rs.140/- and is available at leading bookstores.
