Mahati Kannan, a class X student of Calibre Academy, Mylapore has been awarded a certificate of excellence from the Science Olympiad Foundation and British Council.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5000.
Mahati is among the 100 students across India who received this award for this year.
She is a talented student who also excels in the field of dance, drama and sports apart from academics.
She won the Bronze medal in the Royal Commonwealth Essay Competition 2011 for students of schools and colleges and is the only one to receive the award from Chennai. The theme for the essay contest was ‘Women as agents of change’.
