Class 8, P. S. Senior Sec. School, Mylapore.
Academics are cakewalk to this talented lad. Sanjith
Gopalakrishnan, a student of class 11 in P. S. Senior
Sec. School, Mylapore, has been recently selected for
the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad Camp to be
held in May in Mumbai.

The prestigious National Talent Search scholarship
(NTSE) was just another feather on his cap who already
is a recipient of Child Genius award in the contest
conducted by Brittannia. Sanjith cherishes the moment
he met the former President of India A. P. J. Abdul
Kalam when he received this award.
He has also won a silver medal in the National Cyber
Olympiad hosted by the Science Olympiad Foundation.
Sanjith has represented his school along with Ravikiran
Ramaswamy, his team mate from the same school at the
All India Bournvita quiz Contest held at Calcutta and
the team won the second place.
What motivates him to achieve so many feats? Sanjit
says he takes the help of his elder brother Sathej,
who is now studying in Indian Institute of Technology
(IIT), Madras.
'My brother is my role model' says this voracious reader
who thumbs through any book that he can lay his hands
on.
How does he prepare for the test and contests? "Oh
it's the same technique. I read a class ahead in maths
and science." He shares the secret.
He started his coaching from Nehru Children's Cultural
Association, Tiruvanmiyur. "We came to know about
the classes for Olympiad exams only from the worthwhile
camps conducted here" says his mother. He is a
voracious reader.
Sanjith has recently secured KVPY scholarship from Indian
Institute Of Science,
Bangalore.
The science of sound also interests Sanjith. He presented
a paper on a project titled 'An Acoustical Study of
the Violin' at the Madras-India Regional Chapter of
the Acoustical Society of America and his was declared
the all-time best project and presentations award in
the 11year history of the Chapter.
His hobbies range from collecting stamps to practicing
the piano. "But I have taken a break from learning
the piano since two years now as I wanted to concentrate
more on studies." says Sanjith, who is spending
his summer vacation at the Maths Olympiad camp in Mumbai.
Sanjith wants to pursue research in maths. And aspires
to be on a lunar mission someday!
