P.S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore organised and conducted the P.C. Sekhar Memorial Cricket Tournament (Under 14 Boys) sponsored by the Sanmar Cup from Jan. 19 to 28. 2011.
The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Ajay Kudua, Former Kerala Ranji Trophy & South Zone Cricket Player. 31 city schools participated in the tourney.
Santhome Higher Secondary School won the tourney playing against St. Bedes Higher Secondary school in the finals.
The valedictory function of the tournament was held on Jan. 28 at P.S. Sr. Sec. School. Mr. Tinnu Yohanan, Former Indian Test Cricketer presided over the valedictory function and distributed the prizes.
Various awards were presented.
Player of the Finals (Man of the match) – C. Karthik, Santhome Higher Secondary School 39 runs in 36 balls.
Best Batsman of the Tournament – M. Sairam , P.S. Senior Secondary School (140 Not out, 68 Not out).
Best Player of the Tournament – Washington Sundar, St. Bedes Higher Secondary School 31, 86 (Not out), 138 (Not out).
Best Bowler of the Tournament – G. Vatrun, P.S. Senior Secondary School 7 Wickets throughout the tournament.
