Learn soft skills at this Kids' Club
By
Saniya Surana
With the world getting more and more competitive, soft skills are becoming more important especially for the youth, to face the outside world.
Pooja Malhotra brings out Kids’ Café, a program designed for children between 7-12 years of age, where they learn soft skills like food appreciation, culinary skills, communication skills, table manners and etiquettes. Dance and theatre, which will help children overcome stage fear and help them being confident while speaking in public, are also a part of this program. Through this, children also get an opportunity to interact and build relationships, outside their immediate peer groups.
With a tag line ‘A Children’s Club with a Difference’, Kids Café runs year round. There are two classes per month – on the second and the fourth Saturdays from 4 pm t0 6:30 pm at the Banquet hall at The Accord Metropolitan Hotel.
Parents can enroll their child, anytime of the year, for 3 or multiple of 3 months. Children are provided with food, inclusive in the fees, which is Rs. 3,000 for 3 months and Rs. 11,500 for a year.
NGOs and other successful people from various walks of life and from various countries, come train the children enrolled. Ms. Patty from an American school, Michael Bease, a renowned chef from France, Bindya Bhanda, an expert in communication and Karun, a choreographer who works in the film industry are some of the people who train the kids. Something more special about Kids Café is that, the money which is collected is donated and used for the welfare of child labourers.
