Keep ThinkEng

On the last day of October, students of class 9 B of the PSBB, Nungambakkam school, hosted an English ISA Project titled – ‘Keep ThinkEng’.
Part of the International School Award project, the event began at 9.30 am, right after the Social Science Unit Test. Five students and two teachers from the Highcliffe School in the UK visited the Project which consisted of five sections namely, - PuzzlEng Thoughts, which had different word games and information about Toponyms, Janus Words, Kangaroo words and Beheaded words
Next was the literature corner which had beautifully crafted invitations, lost and found notices based on ‘The Necklace’, a short story by the French author – Guy De Maupassant. The students also got to have an insight to the life of the author.
‘Melting Thoughts’ was a section based on creative endorsements. ‘Woven Thoughts’ was the centre of attraction, where students of the class had penned down short stories around the theme ‘Sacrifice for our country - India’. Qurbani – The Sacrifice of a young girl, Legendary Seven, One Heart, A Cop’s Undertaking, Jai Jawan Jai Kisan and A Reconciliation were the stories written and presented at the event.
Authors’ chair looked upon as the core of the project was next in the line. Two teachers Mrs. Cat Stone and Mr. Nigel posed questions to the young authors. The Puppet show, a conversation between Tintin and Archie, summarised the project.
The visitors from the UK were impressed by the authors’ short stories and answers. They gave a very encouraging feedback. As a gesture, the visitors gifted each author a postcard, depicting important landmarks of United Kingdom.
