Harish Krishna and Varun Rajagopal, students of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Nungambakkam of class 9, have made their parents, school and their friends proud by bagging the first place at the national level of the annual Jack Kilby Science and Technology Quiz. They have won Mac Books, graphical calculator, robotics kit for themselves and a microscope and a trophy for the school. When asked about how they prepared for this quiz, "It wasn’t preparing for this quiz, it was gaining knowledge," said Varun. "With the advent of the Internet, access to knowledge has become easy and sites like Google and Wikipedia are very helpful", he added. Harish, when asked about his other achievements and the most memorable of them all, he took a deep breath and said: "My other achievements are not so remarkable. But, the self-discovery of the limitations of science is the most memorable achievement till date". The talented duo and winners of subject-proficiency and all-rounder awards, surprisingly, haven’t decided on what they are going to take up later as a profession. These two boys, the most talked about in the school for their recent achievements, have also won the third place in a quiz competition organised by Can-Stop recently.
