Sri Sankara Vidyashramam School team visits UK

Sri Sankara Vidyashramam Matriculation Higher Secondary School enrolled in the Global School Partnership programme of the British Council in 2008.

This programme involves projects undertaken by students and teachers of Sri Sankara Vidyashramam  and a partner school in UK on a mutual basis pertaining to specific themes suggested in the programme.The school has got into partnership with The John Warner School,UK.The school has a strength of 1300 students and caters the age group 11-17 years.

Sri Sankara Vidyashramam is into the first year of the partnership and currently their projects are related to ‘Culture’ and ‘Environment’. Students exchange information on these topics to gain knowledge about these in UK and India.This programme also involves reciprocal visits of staff members.

The Principal Mrs.Kalpalatha Mohan and the Vice-Principal Mrs.Sai Geetha Sattya visited the John Warner School, Hertfordshire,UK from 29th September 2009 to 6th October 2009. The visit included discussions with the Principal and various Deputies of the school with regard to administrative policies and measures.It also involved observation of various classes and teaching methodology being followed. They also met the Green team and International Team members of the school in connection with the projects undertaken by the schools. The projects to be undertaken in future were also discussed at great length during this visit .
