XLNS 2010, Bala Vidya Mandir’s Inter House Culturals was held on Saturday, the 13th of November between 8AM and 5PM. The event was organized by the students of Class 11, and was held in the school campus.
Events like Dumb Charades, Ship Wreck, JAM, and ADZAP were conducted for the students of classes 6-10 and preliminaries for select events were held the previous day.
True to its name, XLNS gave the students of the four houses (Kailash, Kanchenjunga, Neelkant and Nagaparbath) a chance to showcase their excellence and talents in various fields.
The judges were alumni from the school who excelled in those events.
The inaugural ceremony began the day, with the chief guest being Mr. S.S. Nathan, CEO of Bala Vidya Mandir Group of Schools.
The students then dispersed for their various events. The first event of the day was the Classical Music event, which was won by Neekant house.
As the clock ticked, each house racked up points with the Kailash team (comprising of Diya, Sahana and Emaya) winning the Quiz event, and Udith Krishna of Kanchenjunga house bagging the first prize in JAM.
Ishan Venkat of Nangaparbath won the Shipwreck event, and Shreyas Srinivasan (Kailash) claimed top spot in Mono-acting. The Dance event was clinched by Neelkant house.
The highlight of the day was the ‘Talent of the Day’ event that was keenly contested by Abinash Basker, Ishan Venkat, Diya Naresh, Sahana Visveshwaran, Hemant Narayan and Udith Krishna.
These six students of Class 10 were tested in various rounds, and Abinash of Kanchenjunga house walked out victorious.
Neelkant house bagged the overall shield.
The day concluded with the National Anthem, and the enthusiastic students left the school with memories of a day well spent.
