Calibre Academy Mrs.YGP School, Mylapore celebrated its 6th Annual sports day on 20th August 2011 at the YMCA Grounds , Nandanam.
We wanted our Sports day celebration to be different and hence imbibed ‘Technology’ as the theme. The celebration was christened as TECHNOSPORTS and the logo was a TECHNOGADGET.
Renowned Indian Cricketer L .Balaji graced the occasion and honored the young national and state level achievers of the school in the fields of swimming, roller-skates, horse riding, football and other sports.
International Football player Arumainayagam declared the sports meet open.
Some of the main attractions were the Rocket Formation, Mobile Race and the Robot Walk. The figure marching by the student of classes 8,9 and 10 was a real feast to the eyes. The added attraction was the projection of the entire event in the LED monitor on the dias and a big screen on one side of the field which facilitated the people who had gathered to have a clear view of the track events. It was indeed a memorable event for the students of the School.
Ms.Sheela Raghavan, Principal TI Matriculation Higher Secondary School gave away the prizes to the winners of the various events.
Mrs.YG Parathasarathy ,educationist and Padmashree awardee graced the occasion and applauded the performance of the students and the innovative attempt.
