Heard of the children’s choir songs tuned by M.B. Srinivasan?
In the Government run CBSE schools, these songs are sung regularly during the school events. Try if you can recollect – Odi Vilaaiyadu pappa of poet Subramania Bharathi and Cheluvina muddina makkale of H.S Venkatesh Murthy. They are among the favourite songs of the young in the 1980s.
Dr. Sudha Raja will present a thesis titled ‘MB Srinivasan and his contribution to Indian Choral music’ on May 13, 2012 at 6.30 p.m. At Aarkay convention Centre. Royapettah High Road, Mylapore.
