Contests held for the founder’s day at the Children’s Club Society

Saturday, February 05, 2011 was a very interesting day for those who participated in the competitions hosted by the Children’s club.
Three events were held and students from different schools thronged to compete.

The first event held was “Sanskrit recitation”. The children who participated in the Sanskrit recitation were expected to learn all the slokas in chapter 10 of Bhagavat gita. The children did recite the verses with clarity and proper pronunciation.

The second event, which was the English recitation, was among the favourites of the participants. The students had the liberty of choosing their own poems rather than sticking to one.
This therefore made the event more interesting as each child picked out a poem which was meaningful to them.

The recitation competition will be followed by the “Sanskrit skit” and “English Skit” competition on the 6th of February.

The prize distribution for the winners of this event is to be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in children’s club. The day of the prize distribution happens to be the founder’s day too.
The children who have won prizes in the competition will also be presenting a cultural programme on the founder’s day.

The Children’s Club is at 213 (96), V.M. Street, Mylapore. Phone. 2847 4140
