Every year during the months of January and February the Kennel Club India, Chennai hosts the Dog Show. Dogs from different parts of India come to participate in this event.
This year there were 52 different breeds of dogs at the event held in the university Union Grounds. Dog lovers from all over came together to witness this event. Some of the many breeds of dogs this year included the Labrador, Alsatian, mastiff, Doberman, Chihuahua, St. Bernard, bulldog, boxer etc even a huskie had come all the way from Moscow to participate in this event.
The dogs have to participate in various events and are rewarded with trophies if they win. This time the dog show was held on the 9th and 10th of January 2010. The dogs are trained very well and each of the owners takes very good care of their respective pets. All the dogs are seen being groomed well by their owners and taken for walks around the place before the events.
Dog lovers are seen clicking pictures with the dogs and enjoying themselves thoroughly. There are also food stalls for those who require a snack. There are also stalls for the various articles and accessories that the dogs requires such as beds, kennels, leashes, bones and various other articles. It is a very nice show for all those who love dogs and is a showcase of the talent of each of the dogs present at the event.
