Event ‘One Small Step’, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of man landing on the moon, to be staged on November 25

The British Council and Evam, a theatre group based in Chennai, bring the U.K. play ‘One Small Step’ which celebrates the 40th anniversary of man landing on the moon to Chennai. The play, which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Fest 2008, will be staged on Nov. 25 at Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Chetpet, at 7.30 p.m.

The play, produced by Oxford Playhouse and directed by Toby Hulse, focusses on actors Oliver Hollis and Robin Hemmings, who, between them, bring dozens of characters to life in an inventive exploration of the space race. From the first dog to be rocketed into space to the moon landings and beyond, the play is full of emotion, intense moments, epic achievements and humour. The simple props used in innovative ways received accolades from the audience at the previous shows.

Tickets for the show are priced at Rs. 200 and Rs.100, and are available at indianstage.in, Landmark (all four outlets), bookmyshow.com and at the venue. In addition to the performance, there will an audience interaction, where the cast will share its artistic process.
