A Pyrography workshop for children of ages 8yrs to 14 yrs is organised by DakshinaChitra on Feb. 4, 2012.
Pyrography, is a technique of burning the designs onto the wood. Began during the 19th century, but it was in the 20th century that it became very popular. Thanks largely to the Development of an electronic tool that is used to burn the designs onto the wood. Pyrography is usually used with wood, but it can also be used with leather, glass, or crystal. At Dakshinachitra, the children will get to learn the technique of burn the design onto the wooden tray.
