Chennai’s Quiz lovers will have busy schedule during the long weekend of January. The Murugappa QFIve Quiz Festival is to run from Jan. 24 to 26, 2015.
The three days will see five quizzes. Quiz Foundation of India and the IIT Madras Quiz Club join hand to organise the three day long festival.
The festival kicks off with Young Teams, a school and college quiz on Saturday, January 24th, at 9 a.m., followed by a MELA quiz on music, movies and the arts that same day, at 2 p.m.
On Sunday, Jan. 25, a general quiz, titled Avial Pursuit, begins at 9 a.m., followed by another general quiz, conducted by popular quizmaster Major Chandrakant Nair, at 2 p.m.
On Jan. 26, the festival closes with Text Appeal, a quiz on books, writing and literature, which begins at 9 a.m.
After Text Appeal, quiz aficionados can stay back to participate in the Edelweiss Open Quiz.
All quizzes, including the Edelweiss Open, will take place at the Central Lecture Theatre in IIT Madras. Young Teams is open to school and college teams of up to three members each; all other quizzes are open to the general public, for teams of up to three members each.
Schools and colleges can participate for free. All other teams will be charged a nominal Rs 100 per team per quiz. No advance registration is required; teams can just land up and take part.
