Sports day meet in Little flower Convent

Little Flower Convent Girls Higher Secondary School for the deaf celebrated it’s 83rd Annual Sports Day Meet on 8th August ’09 in their school premises.
Little Flower Convent Higher Secondary School for the Deaf is located at the heart of the city of Chennai. It is the first High and Higher Secondary School in India/Asia. It was established in 1926 by the Missionary Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and was recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1931.

When asked the Headmistress on what they learn here, she said that the students are taught by the oral aural method supported by modern means of technique namely Maternal Reflective Method (MRM).
Reading and Creative writing is also taught beside the regular syllabus.

The School also has Technical Centre, Vocational Centre, Typewriting, Beautician, Fashion Technology/ Computer Education.

Mr. Chandra Obul Reddy,  Founder of Shri Vinayaga Marbles was the Chief Guest along with Mr. Sridharan and Mr. Harish MBA and Mr. Krishnamuthi and Mrs..Lata Lakshminarayanan, a Child Counsellor were the Guest of Honour. The Program started at sharp 2.30pm with flag hoisting, March Past and Lighting the Olympic Torch declaring the Sports Meet Open.

It was amazing to see the students performing each and every event with full pomp and show. The best part of it was the Guests sitting in the dias were enthusiastically watching each and every show till the
end of the program. The programs included were Rabbit Race, Embroidery Section (Adult Girls), Donstruct and Distruct, Kids beauty parlour, Teacher’s Game, Visitor’s Game, Mass Drill , Prize Distribution and ended with vote of thanks and National Anthem.
