St.John’s English School and Junior College conducted its Students Council Inaugural Function on June 26, 2008.
It was also time to honour the class toppers, School toppers in the Board Exams etc. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Natrajan IAS. The function started off with the colourful Choir rendering a prayer song followed by another song.
An inspiring welcome address by the administrator of the institution Mrs. Anitha Edison followed and the main part of the event was the oath talking of the office bearers of the student’s council.
The ground was filled with enthusiasm and applauses. The Chief Guest Mr. Natrajan then took over for the presidential address. The address which was again very inspiring made all the students involved into it. After this it was the give away time – prizes for the school toppers and class toppers were given away followed by the prizes for full attendance. It was a long list to go.
Then came the time for fun – the cultural events. Breathtaking performances made all the students look at them with awe. The primary students performed like professionals!
The fusion performances with traditional dance and western side by side was a lovely performance when both of the groups danced in different styles to the same style of music.
And one more to go was a fusion performance, but of instrumental music with the most traditional instruments like the morsing, ghatam with top western instruments like the drums. It was the first of its kind in the school. Another memorable evening at the grounds of the St.John’s!
