Soroptimist International of Chennai conducted their 9th Annual Interschool Talent Contest exclusively for students with Learning Disabilities on August 7, 2011, at Sir M.Ct.M. Higher Secondary School, Egmore.
More than contestants from eight special schools participated in the contests.
The contestants were from Sankalp-The Open School, Ananya Learning Center, Alpha to Omega Learning Centre, Saraswathi Kendra Learning Centre, SIET Dyslexia Centre, Diksa, Ananya and the students of the remedial centre at Lady Andal Venkatasubbarao School.
The aim of the contest is to encourage students with Learning Disabilities to participate in such activity, since such opportunity is otherwise not available to them. It also gives them a forum to exhibit their talents and encourages them to hone their skills.
The overall winners were the students of Saraswathi Kendra and the Runners-up were the Lady Andal School students
