I got the news, about yesterday being a holiday, in the form of an unexpected phone call from my friend, on the previous day. I asked him a hundred times if he was sure. He got a bit annoyed and told me that he was totally and completely sure. Overjoyed at having an extra day to study for my exams (which begin on Wednesday), I made detailed plans of what to study and how to spend the holiday.  But, as always, I ended up not studying much yesterday and spending most of the day in front of the computer.

It was a science exam on 15th. With just one Sunday before to study the 11 chapters and not to forget the practical skill it just brought joy on hearing it was a holiday the day before. I Messaged all my friends instantly. I decided to go on studying though. On 15th  morning about 7:00 I called up the the school office .On the other end  I heard ” hello St.Johns” flatly . I ask them eagerly ” Is the school working today?”. The man replied with a hoarse tone,” Yes. Why not?” and hung up the phone. It gave me the shock of my life then. I just stuffed i all things in my bag Classworks,Textbooks,Question banks…few steps ahead of going mad and got ready for school and holla!! there was the school bus. It indeed is a disappointment. 🙁

The holiday on 15th of this month was a great surprise for all the students of Tamilnadu. When a heard that its a holiday .I was filled with joy as well as confusions as I had my phy.science exam on that day.I did not prepare for the exam .In this situation I wished it would be a holiday. To my surprise my wish came true.I thanked our chief minister and Mr. Annadurai for taking birth on that day and for relieving me from my exam tension.once again I thank him.Very joyously I went to the school next day ,well prepared for my next .But there was shocking news waiting for me and everyone in the school i.e the exam which was to be held on Monday will be held on Saturday(holiday). I knew that the exam would be conduced on some other day but not so soon .oh! god my plan of enjoying my leave collapsed fully and I don’t know what i am going to do.All the best to everyone who are going to write their exams and to those waiting for their fatuous results. Once again all the very best!

The matter is all about ‘the holiday’. No surprise holiday for us. Our school is all 365 days working school and it never declares holiday even during the Govt. holidays. We did not have holidays even for Onam and Anna’s centenary. It is quite enjoyable to be at school although we get frustrated at sometimes (that is during exams!)

It was total confusion on Monday morning as the Tamil Nadu Government. Me and my classmates kept calling each other to know if our school had declared a holiday or not. We couldn’t contact the school because no one would be there to attend the phone until 8 o’clock. As soon as i got up, even before getting out of bed, i called two of my friends who were still sleeping! So i started getting ready for school; i even got my uniform ready. But just then one of my friends called and told that our Vice Principal had posted a message in Orkut that there was no school. So I was happy to gain an extra day to finish any extra work. Also my Hindi test was postponed to the next day! The senior students had school;so I’m glad i’m in middle school!
