The Little People’s Festival – April 27, 2013

YOCee  is organising a fun day out for kids and their family on April 27, 2013. The event is a day long festival from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. at Gallery Sri Parvati, a quaint gallery and garden on Eldams Road, Teynampet.
Open to all and entry is free.

Little People's FestivalThe festival will feature an art competition, workshops, interactive demos, arts & crafts corner, a fun photo booth, pottery, live art & caricature.

The festival will also feature a market place of exclusive picks and buys for kids and families and an organic store. A cafe with home-made cookies and muffins, gourmet candies and jigarthanda will also be part of the festival.

The 2013 edition of the Chennai Kids Directory will be launched at this festival and will be available at a special price of Rs. 50 at the venue.

There are also a few walk in interactive sessions in story telling, a close up magic and a group game playing session between 12 noon and 3 p.m. These sessions are open to limited number of participants and requires prior registration. Contact 9840544629.

FESTIVAL FEATURES:

ART & CRAFT WORKSHOPS:
Walk in and learn an art or a craft.

1. Pottery Possibilities
– A hand and wheel pottery workshop by Kaveri Bharath
– 10:30 to 11:30 & 11:30 to 12:30
A hour session to have fun with clay, using hands and wheel with the resource person. Make and take  pots and sculptures by pinching, coiling and stretching the clay.  Fee: Rs. 350 per child.

2. Art Wizard –  On the spot painting with DIY kits for kids by Kalpana Rao

3. Creative Ladder – A craft corner with a range of  DIY art & craft projects for little ones

AFTERNOON ACT

12.00 to 12.30 : Story telling by Tale Spin: a platform for stories

01.00 to 01.30 : Close Up Magic demonstration by L. Baba Prasad

02.00 to 02.30 : Word Play – Group Game by Santhosh Kumar of Bambaram Toy Library

EVENING ACT

A multilingual presentation of songs by our children. Also an interactive sing-along session where the Instructor will teach a song and all could all join in and sing.
