Dakshinachitra a heritage centre for the development of traditional arts and crafts of South India is organizing a one day workshop for children in Warli painting.
Warli art is an ancient folk art tradition of painting of the Warli tribe from Maharashtra. Warli paintings depicts basic principles of life, human and animal figures, rituals, houses and crops. It uses geometric designs such as triangles, circles, squares, dots and crooked lines. Warli art is done mainly on a red background using white colour.
The workshop will teach this traditional art through simple triangle shapes to create book marks, greeting cards & decorative post cards. Conveyance to and from DakshinaChitra on the staff van, will be provided.
The workshop fee: 600/- Inclusive of materials, refreshment and transport only.
