The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has announced that Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Board examinations scheduled to be held from May 4 to June 14, 2021 are cancelled and the Class 12 Board exams scheduled to be held from May 4 to June 14, 2021 are postponed.
The results of Class 10 Board exams will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Any student who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
For Class 12 students, the situation will be reviewed on June 1, 2021 and the new dates will be announced by giving a notice of 15 days before the start of the exams.
Earlier, many state heads and politicians had called for cancellation of the exams, as cases of COVID-19 surges unprecedently.
The decision to cancel Class 10 exams and to postpone Class 12 exams came after the Prime Minister and the education Minister held a meeting today, April 14, 2021.
