Exclusive coaching classes for students of class X and XII who are economically under- privileged and who come from backward communities is here.
The classes are conducted at the Akshara Play School Campus, Mylapore for an entire academic year commencing from June 1, 2012.
This initiative has been taken up for the 6th consecutive year and has only limited number of seats, about 20 for class X and 15 for class XII, so that more attention can be given for each individual. Though it is open for all school curriculums, preference is given to state-board syllabus.
There are separate teachers for every subject. The tutors are professionally trained and are from the P.S. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore. They work part-time in this centre in order to support the good cause. Books, writing materials and bags are provided to all students without charging a single penny from them. Even lab facilities with live demonstrations are available to pupils for better understanding.
The classes are conducted after school hours in two batches. The sole sponsor behind this noble deed is Mr. Ravikumar, an industrialist who is related to Mr. Mukundan, Auditor, Akshara play school, the venue of these classes.
Applications are open only till the end of this month. A detailed bio-data form along with the photocopy of the household’s ration card must be submitted for registration. Remember, it is first -come first serve basis. Only limited seats available, so hurry!
