From Houston, USA to Nageswara Rao Park, Mylapore

Ahi Ajayan, a class VIII student at Ryan Middle School, Houston Texas flew down to present a mikeless kutcheri on July 3, 2016 at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore.

Born and brought up in the USA, Ahi Ajayan took to music at a very early age. She is learning music from guru Suguna Varadachari. Her co-artistes for the concert last Sunday were R. Swadisri, a disciple of guru V V Srinivasa Rao, on the violin and R. Pranav, a disciple of guru Thiruvayaru Gurumoorthy on the mridangam.

P. Viswanathan, Company Secretary, Sundaram Finance Ltd., presented certificates and mementos to the artistes.

Organised by Sundaram Finance on the first Sunday of every month since February 2006, the Sunday Kutcheri in the Park provides an opportunity to young budding talent aged below 15 years to present their music in front of an informal park audience amidst chirping birds and falling leaves. Over 1000 children have presented kutcheri to-date.
