ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI, Tamil Nadu & South India Philatelists Association is jointly organising an exhibition – Cultural and Historical Study of Japan through Japanese Stamps, commemorating 60th anniversary of Japan-India Diplomatic Relationship at ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI, Tamil Nadu Centre, 3rd floor, Chateau D’Ampa, Aminjikarai, Chennai.
His Excellency Mr. Masanori Nakano, Consul General of Japan inaugurated the exhibition on Kune 29, 2012. A vast collection of stamps on various themes like A to Z of Japan, Philatelic Week of Japan, Imperial Family, International Letter Writing Day, Letter Writing Week, 400 years of Tokugawa Shogunate, Prefectural Stamps, the Regional Stamps, Railways, Bridges, Children Day, Engineering Achievements, Japan Heritage Services, Sports, Culture, Nature Heritage Services, Japan Medical Sciences, Japan & its Industrial Relations, Latest Science and Animal Series, Japan Legal System, War & Peace, Japanese Art, Self Adhesive stamps have been categorised neatly and put on display.
ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI academy teaches Japanese Language and conducts many programmes related to Japanese culture, Indo-Japan relationship. Mitra, a first year college student and an avid philatelist found the exhibition very interesting, particularly the animation series. ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI has brought the glorious eras of Japan live through this beautiful display. The exhibition gives a very impressive insight into the history, people and events of Japan.
The exhibition is open to public till July 2, 2012 and is open from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
