Madras story Works presents the Japanese folktale The Magical Tea Kettle. A Peddler found a magical tea kettle in which lived a Tanuki – a racoon. He respectfully gave the tea kettle to a monk. When the monk set it on the fire to make tea the Tanuki jumped out in distress. The Tanuki brings luck to those who help him, so he brought great wealth to the Peddler. Storytelling is followed by an activity.

Knowing Your Library – Feb. 17, 2019. From 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
The session will focus on the necessity of having a library in a neighbourhood, the basics of preservation and cataloguing of books. Children will be taught about the difference between fiction and non-fiction of books.
There will be a role-play in which children will be taught about what is expected of a librarian. Also, the history of the 200-year-old Madras Literary Society will be explained.
