School children from the eighth standard at Olcott Memorial School in Besant Nagar participated in a four week mapping workshop run by Transparent Chennai recently.
Members of the Transparent Chennai team, aided by teachers from the Olcott Memorial School, helped the children to use Google Earth and Google Maps, and to use paper maps to navigate through their neighborhood to find important landmarks.
The students will present the outcomes of their work at Spaces, No 1 Elliots Beach Road, Besant Nagar on April 23, 2011 at 11 a.m.
