Time to lift trophies at Sri Sankara Senior

The Annual Sports Day of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School was held on August,29, Monday at YMCA
Nandanam from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The school principal was the chief guest of the day.
The Sports Day began with a March Past by the students of class 8 and above. The marchers were led by the school Sports Secretary, Venkatnath.
Divided according to the respective houses – Red, Blue, Green and
Yellow, the teams got ready for the day. The principal declared the Sports Day open and hoisted the school flag. The Sports torch was carried around the ground then.
The main events 1500m, 100m, 400m, 200m sprints and 4x100m (relay) races were conducted followed by the other events like Shot-put, High Jump (only boys) and Long Jump. All the events were held separately for boys and girls of different classes.
The Sports Day ended with the announcement of prizes for the different categories.

The Yellow house bagged the house championship with 170 points; Red came second with 165 points, Green third with 132 points and Blue house ended up becoming the last, with 99 points, but they made up for their loss by winning the Best March Past award.
The Sports Secretary gave a vote of thanks and all those gathered stood up for the National Anthem.
