Amidst tight security and strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, the counting of votes polled in the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu held on April 6, 2021 is on today.
Polling for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu had recorded 72.78% turnout.
Beginning with the counting of postal votes polled by senior citizens of above 80 years and differently-abled, the votes recorded in Electronic Voting machines (EVMs) were taken up by 8.30 a.m.
Counting agents were required to produce RT-PCR test Negative reports or proof of both doses of vaccination.
Since Sunday is a total lockdown day in Tamil Nadu, there are no crowds and thronging the counting centres.
