Media over the years has etched a special place in our lives. It has become an indispensable part of our lives, and therefore, PSBB, Nungambakkam has begun its activities for the Media Club, which was inaugurated last year. With a whole new team of students, behind its working, it has become the most happening club at school in a span of two months.
This unique club is organizing poetry writing, story writing & photography contests this week. The response from the students of Std. IX, X & XI is amazing, and it seems as if more than three-quarters of the school has signed up. Also, the club organized a “Jumbled Gossip” contest, wherein students with special passes could click pictures of the Anniversary Programme of the school and were made to make a collage with their pictures.
The activities of the club have been subject to appraisal from all students and teachers. With an innovative design, of the core-members, namely, Amrithavarshini V, Karthikeyan G, Padmapriya. G and Saniya Surana along with Mrs. Mahalakshmi Ramjee, who organise the competitions with other volunteers, the club has proved itself to be one to be taken as a model for the other clubs too.
More contests where students will have to prepare case studies, edit photographs and articles, blog together as a whole class and many more are on their way! Apart from such competitions, students are encouraged to write reports on the school events, interview celebrities and also have book reading sessions. The organizers have also taken up a initiative to make the students aware of famous poets and authors and learn more about their lives and also get to know about the poetic licenses, and the structure of poems. Eg. The poet of the month (August), P.B.Shelly has used Terza Rima in his famous poem, Ode to the West Wind. The students are being educated on this aspect too!
And that’s not all! The club has yet another bean left in the bag!
