The fourth edition of the Metro Plus Theatre Fest was held from Aug. 1 to 10 this year. The fest is held in the month of August every year.
This year the event was held at Sri Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall located inside the campus of Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao School in Chetpet. The huge auditorium can accommodate up to 1132 guests. The stage decoration for all the plays was simply magical.
Seven plays were presented at this fest. Out of them, two were presented by actors from abroad – the Midsummer Night’s Dream by Korean actors and the Whale, an adaptation from the famous classic Moby Dick. This was a mono-act done by an American actor.
The other plays were directed by people from Chandigarh, Bangalore, and Mumbai. One of the plays, The Electronic City, was directed by a German, but had actors were entirely from Chennai.
The overall rating of the plays was good as there were plays for different ages of the society.
