The Summer Young Journalist Programme at YOCee will be held from April 17 to 22, 2017.
The program will introduce children to news, basics and ethics of reporting and journalism. The sessions are divided into ten major parts that will help discover talents of writing/reporting, designing, photography and interviewing.
The Young Journalist Programme also aims at improving language and communication skills. The participants will learn to report on events, conduct interviews and will report, write, edit and design their own newspaper. The programme also aims to introduce the participants to basic photography, journal writing, travel writing, opinion writing and blogging. The training leads to producing a newspaper by the participants with their reports & photos. The participants will also get an opportunity to edit and design the edition.

Participants who successfully complete the programme, will be awarded a certificate. They will also have an opportunity to continue as student reporters for YOCee for the year 2017-18. The Student Reporters at YOCee get an id-card, a reporter kit and guidance in reporting through the year.
The sessions will be held for three hours on the camp days from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The programme is suitable for high school students from class 6 and above. The resource person is R. Revathi, Editor, YOCee. Camp fee is Rs. 1700 per student.
