On 30th of October 2009, Sishya, Adyar celebrated its Annual Day.
The celebrations began at 6 p.m. with an Invocation song by the ICSE 2010 batch. A medley of songs sung by the ISC 2010 batch followed.
After this musical beginning to the evening, the principal, Mrs. Omana Thomas and then the Chief Guest Mrs. Letika Saran, IPS spoke. The Chief Guest gave away the prizes for Achievers in the 2009 ICSE and ISC exams and in extra curricular activities. The Headmaster, Mr. Rajendran conveyed vote of thanks. It was time for the shows then.
This year, the students performed the play, Cinderella. The timeless fairy tale was presented with lots of music and dance and a quite a few touches of humour.

The show had some great props and amazing costumes. There was also a choir which did the backing vocals for a few of the songs.
Another good part of the show was the instruments which were played by the students themselves along with the school’s music teacher.
The preparations for the show began months ago as it was originally supposed to be held on the 1st of September. Due to the H1N1 epidemic the date of the program had to be pushed forward. So the students and teachers resumed practice by the 19th of October. Even though the time for practice was short they still managed to turn out a good show.
