The Managing Director of Sri Krishna Sweets (SKS), M. Murali recently revealed another passion of his apart from running his sweet shop. He loves collecting Vinayagar images, idols and statues and he has put up a display of his collection of over 2600 statues at the Sri Krishna Sweets branch on Venkatnarayana Road, T.Nagar. It’s being held from Aug. 27 to 31, 2014. The display is open from 9 a.m. onwards.
This Sri Krishna Sweets branch is next to Thirumalai Tirupati Devasthanam. So, if you are going to receive a darshan of Balaji, don’t forget to pop into the SKS branch right next door and check out the exhibition.
The ambience is calm and serene with light devotional music playing in the background. There are many beautiful and colourful statues of all materials and colours and it is truly a feast for the eyes, whether you are a Ganesha devotee or not.
Many Vinayagar images are creatively shown as doctors, farmers, lecturers and music teachers and some are just playing carrom and doing yoga. These ideas are promoting the fact that you can do anything and it’s really interesting to observe. Do not miss this opportunity and go check this out as entry is free. You can also write your feedback in the book kept right next to the exhibition or send a mail to
