This year students from Besant Nagar club have won the Chennai City Tournament and they are the champions. And the credit goes to the coaches at the 27 year old Besant Nagar club.
The club hosts summer camp for the last ten years.
The chief coach Edwin and the coach in charge Aravindan have been training the Tennis enthusiasts.
The club has been instrumental in sending many finalists to the National Tournaments.
Many trainees have participated in the Annual Men’s State Ranking Tournament and State Ranking Tournament for kids as well.
Players like Ajay Selvaraj, Nihal Kapoor, Rishab Dev and Preethi Srinivasan have been playing at the International tournaments representing the Besant Nagar Club.
This year the camp started on April 1and ends on May 30. Around fifty kids in the age group of 6 – 15yrs have joined the summer camp. The club is a proud owner of three synthetic international standard courts with flood lights which attracts the many young and the old people to become members here. The atmosphere is very calm and markers are very helpful
There is also regular coaching for kids and adults in the evening between 6 and 8pm.
