School is the best place to have community celebrations. The students, teachers and parents of a school for a community themselves.
The Mothers club of Lady Andal Venkata Subbarao school organised a Dandia Nite at the school premises on Sep. 25.
It began at 5 pm and went on till 8 pm. For the entry fee Rs. 50 the dandia sticks were given along with a ticket.
There was a live band ‘Rangeela’, playing all the old Hindi songs and kept the young and the old who chose to dance, very busy on the floor.
The people who attended the Nite, were dressed in the traditional costumes with a lot of beautiful jewellery. The traditional outfits were of all different kinds like the Ghagra choli, the Anarkali. Salwars and also colourful sequined khurtis.
A number of prizes were given for ‘The best dressed’, and to ‘The best dancers’.
Various food stalls like Java Green, Pizza Deli, Tibbs Frankie and Chaat, were packed with people, enjoying the food served.
There were also stalls for those wishing to have their hands decorated with Mehendi, and others who chose to have themselves, paint tattooed.
The Principal and teachers of the school also involved actively in the celebration.
It was a lot of fun for everyone who were part of the event on that day!
