Investiture Ceremony at Ambattur School

The Hussain Memorial School conducted the investiture ceremony for appointing the leaders of the year 2008-2009 at 8 am on a cloudy morning.

The School follows the system of election, in which all the students of their school elect their leader from a certain number of students in Higher Secondary.

The students who were interested to lead the school team  in various activities applied for the preferred posts such as School People Leader, Sports captain, House captains and the academic and cultural captains.

The main aim of this is to encourage the students to be sportive and cultivate leadership as, ‘a wise leader can see more from the bottom of the well than a common man from a mountain talk’.

Ramya of 11- A was elected as the school people leader. The house captains were Uday Karthick of ‘Red Roses’, Ashwin of  ‘Shamrocks’, Bhargavi of  ‘blue Bells’ and Aarthi of  ‘daffidols’ with their vice captains.

The P.T master, Mr. Johnson and the teachers assisted the leaders for the position and oath taking ceremony which was held subsequently. The Correspondent of the School Mr. Brigadier, who served in army for about 32 years, fit up the badges for the assigned leaders. By the side the band and the choir had its smash with the amusing songs. The leaders had a small verbal communication with the students followed by the head master’s and Brigadier’s speech.

The correspondent of the school in his speech, commended the P.T master for arranging that show and boosted the spirit of the elected leaders. He also declared the date for Football tournament, conducted in the memory of the founder M.K. Hussain who was an army man again and a first-rate football player. The tournament is being conducted every year since 1992.

The newly elected captains are now preparing the work for the win in the tournament of football which is to flash later this month.
