A fun-filled set of sports tournaments was held for parents of students studying in P.S.Senior Secondary School recently.
A pleasant rainy Saturday, July 20, 2013 proved to be a day of recreation, rest, fun and skill-testing for parents of students at PSSSS. Sports competitions were held separately for men and women at the school premises from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. which saw parents of more than 70 students actively participating.
This included knock-out games in disciplines such as table tennis, carrom, chess and badminton. This event was organised as an initiative to encourage and promote sports and physical activity among parents.
The event was conducted and organized extravagantly by volunteers from the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) who showed utmost hospitality to all parents.
This sports meet came as a pleasant surprise to many amused parents who saw the event as an opportunity to relive the games they played as youngsters.
Tiny tots cheered and watched on as their parents played some wonderful, competitive games. Parents were also provided with snacks, biscuits, water and necessary sports equipment.
The meet was organised with full dedication and simplicity-right from the registration of names till wrapping up of the whole show-thanks to student volunteers and members of the PTA who took up umpiring, scoring and every aspect of the event on their shoulders.
The winners will receive their prizes during the sports day of the school.
