Drishti – a play for the love of the motherland

Alchemy Theatres presents Drishti — My Country, My Mother, a play inspired by former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam’s speech, ‘Do you have 10 minutes for our country?’

Drishti, a contemporary theatre production, is an attempt to emphasize on the thought of developing a focussed vision in every individual to see and feel our country as our motherland….as our mother, says Vijay Viswananthan, who conceptualised the idea and also directed the play.

Renowned Bharatanatyam maestro and guru V. P. Dhananjayan has choreographed the folk dance in the production.

A portion of the funds collected through this production will go for project BIN IT!, a project by Rotary Club of Madras Central, which aims to educate & sensitize school children, college students and corporates on the effective use of garbage bins.

The show will be staged on November 3, 4 and 5, 2016 at Museum Theatre, Egmore.A special show for school students is planned for November 4, at 10:30am. Over 500 students from different schools are expected to be the audience for the show.
