With the December Music Season in Chennai just beginning , students of Bharathanjali presented a dance performance ‘Kshetrambuja Maala’, based on the compositions of Ambujam Krishna.
The resource person for this dance production was Sujatha Vijayaraghavan, a dance and music scholar. Guru Anitha Guha, who heads Bharathanjali had come up with the concept and choreography for the performance. The music was set by P.R. Venkatasubramanian.
The performance on December 2, 2016, at Narada Gana Sabha was for Kartik Fine Arts. It was a stunning performance with attractive colors and a scenic background. The dance performance began with a Vinayaka Thudhi. Kshetrambuja Maala started from Meenakshi to Aandaal kalyaanam elaborating goddess Meenakshi, Chidambaram, the celestial wedding of Meenakshi to Sundareshwarar, Dashavatharam and ended with the wedding of Aandaal to Maha Vishnu.
All the compositions for this performance were of Ambujam Krishna, a noted composer. They had picked special songs based on this topic, that were sung by several vidwans
At the end of the program, Anitha Guha and Revathy Shankaran the students and conveyed thanks for everyone for supporting them.
