Students of Gurukulam Academy, Adyar and Guruji School of Work showcased their drawings and paintings at C.P. Art Centre, Eldams Road, Alwarpet on June 15, 2014.
Works of nearly 50 young artists including their parents were showcased on the theme ‘Happy India’. The students sketched their idea of a Happy India in colours. The exhibition was open from 10.30 am to 7.00 pm on Sunday. These art exhibits were also put on sale with prices starting from Rs 1500. Of the funds raised, 20% was planned to be donated to the Andhra Mahila Sabha, Adyar and the Pranik Healing Centre, West Mambalam. The rest 80% would go to the Gurukulam Academy and Guruji School of Work.
The exhibits depicted ideas ranging from the ideal Indian festival Deepavali to the various Heritages of India. The exhibition primarily aimed at creating awareness on Art and Service among children to inculcate the importance of preservation of the Architectural and Cultural Heritage of India.
It was a visual treat for all those who made it on Sunday and was a good effort put in by the participants.
