A fun filled fete for children was held on Sep. 14 by V-Excel Educational Trust. It was held at the Youth Hostel, Indira Nagar.
V-Excel believes in providing a stimulating environment for the differently-abled child to facilitate learning. Their motto is ‘Education without barriers’. So this carnival was also hosted for a special purpose to raise funds and support their motto.
About 3370 people have enrolled with V-Excel from urban and rural areas. “We started the organization in 2001 and are partners of Bala Vidya Mandir School”, said Nandini, a staff member of V-Excel.
“The Carnival was held for the second time this year”, said Vandana, another member of their staff. It included various skill testing games and a stall for eatables.
One stall displayed handcrafted item like painted wine bottles, beaded purses, postcards and dolls. “Our older children are trained to make things like these”, explained Vandana.
There were many games held for the children and their families like ‘Treasure island’, ‘Knot the dupatta’, ‘Card sorting’, ‘Tyre and ball’ and various memory games. There was also a fortune teller and a cotton candy vendor.
Songs were performed on the stage to get the people involved. A few of the visitors were called on stage to sing songs and motivate the children.
