Students of class 9 to 12 of Vani Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam departed to Yercaud, the hill town, for its climate.
The team of students left Chennai on Sep. 18, 2011 by Kovai Express. And reached Salem at 6.50 on the next morning.
It took an hour to reach Yercaud on the Shevaroyan range of hills. The stay was arranged in the Sterling Resort at the hills. Eight students in a room!
From the resort Yercaud looked like a heaven. The view was amazing from there. After breakfast, rest and a sumptuous lunch the group left for sightseeing.
The first stop was at a point few minutes away from the resort known as Bakoda Point, from where the view was very good.
Then a temple trip to Namakkal Anjaneya temple. After a few minutes on the top of the hill on which the temple had its origin the team went back to the hotel.
At the resort it was time to assemble in the lawn – kind of area for campfire. It was good time singing and dancing.
The second day after breakfast was again day of sightseeing around the hills. Anna Park and Lake was the destination.
Anna Park has many varieties of plants with flowers grown in it. It also has a small playing area (a park).
A view of the lake followed by a short time for shopping gave the day a colourful swift.
On return to the resort it was time to get back to Salem to catch the train at 4 in the evening. We returned to Chennai around 11p.m. It was good time together though it was a short trip.
