Tamil Nadu Government is reintroducing many restrictions that were relaxed in the past months, as there is an increase in COVID-19 cases across the state. The news orders come into effect from April 10. 2021.
The order states that the “very reason for the increase in the number of positive cases is due to non-adherence of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour viz., wearing of face masks in the public places, maintaining social distancing, following the Standard Operating Procedures etc., by the general public.”
The government order issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department restricts festivals and religious congregations. All places of worship will be open only till 8 p.m.
All entertainment and amusement parks, museums, cinemas and multiplexes are permitted to operate with 50% of the capacity. Stadiums and playgrounds are open only for sports competitions.
People travelling from other states, other than the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry, will have to register online and obtain epass.
