When all the other schools had either the exams or full working days, PSBB had declared it a holiday.
Not exactly a study holiday, but to watch the twenty – twenty match being held at the Chepauk stadium as a part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations.
It was a match played by the present cricket team Vs. the alumni.
Renowned players like Badrinath, and R. Ashwin were a part of this team. PSBB Alumni won the toss and chose to bat first. And they went on to score 158 runs in 20 overs.
Then after the break came the PSBB present team ( any guesses why the cheers went higher?) and batted well, though not matching up to the Alumni team and were all – out for a 132. A commendable score though.
The match was like a roller coaster ride. At times 2 sixes and 3 fours in an over and at other times, a maiden over. But the atmosphere was electric and the commentators added spice to the match.
When Srikanth came waving to the audience in the middle of the match, the crowd went wild! Lakshmipathi Balaji was also present along with Kris Srikanth who was the chief guest.
It was also the caps and signs given at the entrance which made it all the more fun. Another day of chilling with our friends and why fear when a good canteen was there?
In all, a lovely day. But not such a lovely evening when I had to collapse in bed thanks to the Chennai sun at noon.
