Summer means fun to all the 47 children who sent in entries for the Season of Summer contest.
While some wrote ‘essays’, some others captured interesting things at home. A few found their terraces and gardens ‘cool’ spots and worthy of a report on!
The winners were selected basing on (a) what they found interesting in their observation (b) how they presented (c) the original photo/s they added to their piece – we discarded those downloaded from the Internet (d) of course, the language and basic grammar.
We thank Ms. Rohini Jayaram, who teaches English in a city school and mother of two school-going children, for scanning through the entries and selecting the winners.
The names of the participants who made it to the top ten are listed below. In alphabetical order of their names. The prizes will be distributed on the day of launch of Student Reporter Programme 2012-13 in June. The exact date and time will be intimated to the winners individually.
Congratulations to the winners!
And all the participants who missed making to the top ten, keep writing and reading; you can write better and get published and get prizes very soon!

I was surprised to see that most of the winners had not come to claim their prizes
