My experience at a classical violin concert

I went to many music performances during the Margazhi season in Chennai. But the one which I liked best was of the famous violinist A. Kanyakumari. The concert took place on December 23, 2014 in the ISKCON Hall, Thiruvanmiyur. I could hear excited murmurs all around me and some in the audience were debating on what songs she would perform on that day.
A. Kanyakumari, the violinist came up on stage and spoke a few words of introduction and all the audience were giving her a huge applause. All the applause died down immediately after she started to play Vatapi Ganapatim beautifully on her violin. All I could hear was the melodious music played by her and there was a pin drop silence from all the audience including me.
Once she had finished with the first song she started to play Nannu brova and then the musical notes of the song Bhavayami Raghuramam filled my ears. Then there was a song played in the ragam Narayani, which the violinist had tuned herself. She had then started off to play an Annamacharya kriti. She continued with Marukelara O Raaghava, next was Nagumomu and many more songs were played after these numbers.
While I was listening to all the songs she played, all I knew was that I was gazing spellbound at the way she played her violin and was enchanted by the music. I hope to hear more kutcheris of the famous violinist.
Violinist A. Kanyakumari has been chosen for the Padma Shri award this year.
