Budding drummer enters Limca Book of Records

This ten year old student Nitish S.B, studying in Chinmaya Vidyalaya has created a record recently. He is a budding drummer. He has played the drums along with a 1000 drummers lead by A. Sivamani, the popular drummer and created the Limca Bharat record for ‘The largest full drum kit ensemble.’ The record was for 11 minutes 30 seconds. »

Five young artists from Cultural Cradle, an art academy in Coimbatore display their paintings in Chennai this weekend.
Budding artists Bhavika Dugar, S. Keerthivaasan, V. Niharika, M.K. Sudarshan and P. Vijay Shankar trained under V. Chandrasekar are winners of painting contests at the national and international levels.
The exhibition ‘Varnakalika’ will be inaugurated by Meena Dadha of Prakrit Arts at Gallery Sri Parvati, Eldams Road, Alwarpet and will be on from Feb. »

SBOA wins Coast Guard quiz for school children

Indian Coast Guard Day celebrations include a quiz competition for school children every year. The event organised at the Chennai Port this year held on Jan. 30 was onboard the ship Sarang.
